HMRC is seeking a highly motivated and ambitious Deputy Finance Business Partner to join its Chief Digital & Information Office (CDIO) Group. As a key member of the Financial Management division, you will play a crucial role in delivering outstanding financial services to CDIO leaders, influencing decision-making and outcomes through strong financial management.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Decision Support: Provide financial outputs and deliver financial decision support to CDIO budget holders and Finance Business Partners.
- Strategic Advice: Offer advice on strategic outcomes and integrate finance with decision-making.
- Governance Assurance: Embed governance assurance and controls, acting as a critical friend to CDIO stakeholders.
- Financial Planning: Proactively monitor CDIO in-year expenditure, forecasts, financial plans, risks, and opportunities.
- Financial Analysis: Build insight based on financial data and reports, feeding into FBP and stakeholders to act upon.
- Cost Models: Oversee cost models for expenditure, commercial activity, business cases, and planning across the area of responsibility.
- Financial Commissions: Lead on regular and ad-hoc financial commissions, ensuring through analysis and presentation of data/information.
- Financial Controls: Follow and control mechanisms to ensure effective financial controls are maintained.
- Commercial Landscape: Build knowledge and understanding of the commercial landscape and IT roadmap.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with and provide proactive coaching and guidance to Management Accountants.
- Deputyship: Deputise for Finance Business Partner as required.
Essential Criteria
- Previous experience of working in a finance function/environment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with stakeholders and colleagues.
- Ability to prioritise the differing needs of a range of stakeholders and be able to influence decisions and actions to drive efficiencies.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to turn data into insight.
- Competence in Excel and ability to continually review and improve processes.
