Job Title: Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Speech and Language Therapist to join our team at Cygnet Hospital Wyke. As a Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist, you will have the opportunity to work with a complex client group in an in-patient setting, delivering an evidence-based SLT service to promote functional communication systems and optimal independence.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess, advise, and intervene with clients to promote functional communication systems and optimal independence
  • Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to deliver a comprehensive SLT service
  • Train others, promote good practice, and maintain a successful total communication environment
  • Screen, assess, and manage eating, drinking, and swallowing difficulties
Requirements:
  • Registered Speech and Language Therapist with the HCPC
  • Experience in adult mental health and/or ASD
  • Dysphagia qualification desirable
  • Excellent communication and time management skills
  • Passionate about student education
