We are seeking an experienced Production Shift Manager to join our team at Buy It Direct, a leading company in the waste recycling industry. As a Production Shift Manager, you will be responsible for managing our PM shift at our cutting-edge facility in Elland.
Key Responsibilities- Open and close the site, conducting daily inspections to ensure a safe and efficient working environment.
- Arrange, produce, and document shift patterns to optimize productivity and resource allocation.
- Plan and communicate work plans effectively to your team, ensuring clear understanding and alignment with company goals.
- Measure performance and ensure cost and quality Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are achieved, driving continuous improvement and excellence.
- Ensure compliance with company regulations, including working hours, health and safety, and site permitting, maintaining a culture of accountability and responsibility.
- Manage and flex labor resources as needed, adapting to changing demands and priorities.
- Maintain high standards of warehouse discipline and cleanliness, promoting a safe and respectful work environment.
- Provide training, coaching, and support to the team, fostering growth and development.
- Performance manage staff, including providing motivational leadership and handling disciplinary matters, upholding company values and policies.
- Adhere to standard operating procedures, safe systems of work, and other health and safety requirements, ensuring a culture of safety and well-being.
- Assist with general maintenance of the site and equipment, ensuring optimal functionality and efficiency.
- Manage the offloading and loading of vehicles according to the traffic management plan, minimizing disruptions and delays.
- Prepare the site for the receipt of existing, new, and projected volumes of material, ensuring seamless operations and logistics.
- Ensure permit requirements are met, maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements.
We are looking for a strong leader with good interpersonal and people management skills, experience managing a team, ideally within the waste recycling industry. You should possess good problem-solving abilities and adaptability, with a WAMITAB COTC Level 4 in hazardous waste treatment/transfer being an advantage but not essential. You should be able to make decisions regarding safety and operational issues, be self-motivated with team motivational skills, and proactive with minimal supervision needed.
