Job Responsibilities

  • Provide compassionate care and support to patients participating in clinical trials within the West Wing Clinical Research Centre (WWCRC).
  • Assist registered nursing staff with patient monitoring, including vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, temperature, oxygen saturation), reporting any abnormalities promptly.
  • Measure and record patients' height and weight accurately.
  • Prepare dressing/procedure trolleys under the guidance of registered staff and independently after competency is achieved.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment by cleaning equipment daily, including trolleys and drip stands. Report any necessary repairs to the nurse in charge.
  • Collect blood products from the blood bank (subject to completion of part 1 blood transfusion competency).

About The Role

The West Wing Clinical Research Centre (WWCRC) is a dedicated space within The Royal Marsden Hospital, providing a comfortable environment for patients participating in clinical trials. Equipped with a laboratory for processing blood samples and a pharmacy room for dispensing trial drugs, WWCRC offers consulting rooms for research clinics, encompassing consent, screening, baseline, and on-treatment patient visits. A limited number of day recovery beds are available for patients undergoing research-related procedures.
