Chemical Analyst

WasteRecruit Ltd is seeking a highly skilled Site Chemist to join their team in Grays, Essex. As a Site Chemist, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe handling and disposal of hazardous waste.

1. Inspecting loads arriving on site and verifying compliance with transport documents.
2. Segregating chemicals into compatible combinations and packing/labeling for safe transport to other disposal/recycling sites.
3. Working off-site at client premises as required, listing/packing, etc.
4. Listing, packaging, and labeling wastes for collection by company drivers.
5. Classifying waste with appropriate EWC codes and assigning ADR labels.
6. Supervising vehicles loading with hazardous materials.
7. Sampling/checking/testing of wastes and storage.
8. Assisting in managing waste stocks and keeping accurate records.
9. Preparing lists for wastes to be transferred off-site to third-party disposal points, liaising with other staff to ensure correct disposal routes.
10. Having involvement in pricing for incoming wastes when required.
11. Computer literate working with all Microsoft applications.

Requirements:

• Appropriate chemistry qualification to degree level or equivalent.
• Experience in handling a diverse range of chemical compounds, with some understanding of inter-reactions.
• Clean driving license is essential, and the ability to drive a forklift truck would be an advantage.

This role would suit a recent graduate looking for a career within the waste management industry or a person who already has experience. Full training and support will be given.
