Chemical Analyst

WasteRecruit Ltd is seeking a highly skilled Site Chemist to join their team in Grays, Essex. As a Site Chemist, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe handling and disposal of hazardous waste.

1. Inspecting loads arriving on site and verifying compliance with transport documents.
2. Segregating chemicals into compatible combinations and packing/labeling for safe transport.
3. Working off-site at client premises as required (listing/packing etc).
4. Listing, packaging, and labeling wastes for collection by company drivers.
5. Classifying waste with appropriate EWC codes and assigning ADR labels.
6. Supervising vehicle loading with hazardous materials.
7. Sampling/checking/testing of wastes and storage.
8. Assisting in managing waste stocks and maintaining accurate records.
9. Preparing lists for waste transfer off-site to third-party disposal points, liaising with other staff to ensure correct disposal routes.
10. Participating in pricing for incoming wastes when required.
11. Proficiency in Microsoft applications.

Requirements:

• Appropriate chemistry qualification to degree level or equivalent.
• Experience in handling diverse chemical compounds, with some understanding of inter-reactions.
• Clean driving license and ability to drive a forklift truck (advantageous).

This role is ideal for recent graduates or individuals with experience in the waste management industry. Full training and support will be provided.
