Warehouse Operative

As a key member of the Leidos team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our warehouse and logistics functions. This role requires a high level of organization, attention to detail, and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Skills:

  • Proficient in the use of computers and warehouse management systems, with experience in Costpoint a plus.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment, delivering parts to meet company demands.
  • Accurate cycle counting and stock reporting.
  • Receiving and processing goods, updating stock lists, and maintaining accurate inventory records.
  • Picking and packing orders efficiently and accurately.
  • Filling in documentation and maintaining accurate records.
  • Loading and unloading vans and lorries safely and efficiently.
  • Operating MHE equipment, including counterbalance forklifts and reach trucks.
  • Occasional driving of company vans for urgent deliveries and collections.

Time Management:

  • Effective time management and ability to adapt to changing priorities.

Communication:

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to understand tasks allocated and work effectively with the department team.

Team Working:

  • Collaboration with the stores and logistics team to achieve common goals.

Health & Safety:

  • Adherence to company policies and procedures, ensuring a safe working environment.

Requirements:

  • Good communication and customer-facing skills.
  • Ability to work independently and make decisions to overcome issues.
  • Previous experience in a similar working environment.
  • Experience of working with other trades and teams to ensure project deliveries.
  • Experience of using warehouse management systems.

Qualifications:

  • Good level of general education.
  • Ability to use computers and understanding of Microsoft packages.
  • Clean driving license.
  • Forklift license (counterbalance and reach truck) a plus.
