Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Phlebotomist to join our team at Dartford and Gravesham NHS Trust. As a Phlebotomist, you will play a vital role in providing a high-quality phlebotomy service to our patients.

Main Responsibilities
  • Collect blood samples from patients with indirect supervision, adhering to protocols and procedures.
  • Provide and maintain a safe and stable clinical environment, ensuring samples reach the Laboratory in optimal condition and in a timely manner.
  • Assist with the training and supervision of staff, providing phlebotomy-related information to patients, and liaising with laboratory colleagues and other services as needed.
Requirements
  • Formal training in Phlebotomy (must show evidence/certificate at Interview)
  • Basic literacy and numeracy skills
  • Good understanding of infection control risks and measures
  • Excellent phlebotomy techniques (to be tested at interview)
  • Sound knowledge and experience in Phlebotomy
  • Polite, pleasant, and kind manner
  • Strong interpersonal and customer care skills
  • Flexibility in ways of working and hour/shifts
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in tasks
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to be adaptable to meeting the changing requirements and needs of the service
  • A 'can do' attitude
  • Works well in a team
