We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer to join our Project Management team at ICM Group. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading the execution of capital projects, managing a team of project engineers, and providing technical and project management oversight to design, construction, and commissioning of facilities.
Key Responsibilities- Project Execution: Lead the execution of capital projects according to scope, schedule, and budget.
- Team Management: Manage a team of project engineers and provide guidance and directives to ensure successful completion of projects.
- Petrochemicals Expertise: Leverage expertise in Petrochemical projects and provide the appropriate actions for the team to follow in all phases of the project.
- Technical Oversight: Provide technical and project management oversight to design, construction, pre-commissioning, commissioning, startup, and close out of projects.
- Issue Resolution: Ensure timely resolution of project issues arising in all phases of the project development.
- Safety Measures: Ensure safety measures are implemented in the projects' execution.
- Company Initiatives: Implement company initiatives in projects and business processes under the division.
- KPIs: Be fully familiar with company Key Performance Indices (KPIs) and achieve them for projects under the division.
- Reporting: Prepare/Review monthly project performance reports showing the status of design, material procurement, construction, milestones, commitments, payments, charges, variances from standards, waivers, and problems.
- Change Management: Anticipate and plan for changes in project scope, timing, or costs. Prepare documentation and obtain management approval.
- Manpower Planning: Assign appropriate manpower to all parts and phases of the project. Ensure appropriate training and development paths are assigned to each division employee.
- Correspondence: Oversee and review incoming and outgoing correspondence concerning projects assigned.
- Job Records: Ensure that proper job records are maintained on all assigned projects.
- Contract Negotiation: Negotiate agreements and change orders with design and execution contractors. Guide and direct team members in the application of client standards.
- Standards Compliance: Assure that variances from standards are minimized.
- Project Development: Responsible for project development: engineering studies, licensors selection, technical bid reviews, preliminary engineering, detail design, materials procurement, construction, pre-commissioning, handover, commissioning, startup, and close out.
- Contract Monitoring: Review weekly and monthly reports on the status and progress of the contracts, including project costs and schedule.
- Project Meetings: Attend project meetings e.g. progress, stakeholders, design review, value improvement, etc.
- Project Schedule: Review of project schedule, coordinate and monitor the assigned project progress and challenge below par performance of the contractor.
- Professional Conduct: Uphold engineering ethics and maintain high standards of professional behavior and conduct.
Below are the minimum qualifications required:
- Education: Hold a Bachelor's degree in Engineering (4 years). This is compulsory.
- Certification: You must also obtain a PMP, PgMP, or equivalent certification.
- Experience: You must have Fifteen years' experience in project management field related to refining and petrochemical industries with a specialty in Petrochemicals.
- Senior Experience: Including Seven (7) years of experience as Sr. PE or project manager in design, construction, pre-commissioning, commissioning, startup, and operation with values ranging from $500MM to $billion.
- Expertise: As a subject matter expert; You must have Engineering, Design & Construction phase experience with a thorough knowledge of engineering practices and economic principles in the applicable International Codes, Standards, and Specifications.
- International Procedures: You must have a mastery understanding of international procedures of Projects Phases, Engineering Phases, Bidding procedures, Procurement Processes, Construction Requirements, and up-to-date Best Practices.
- Client Procedures: In addition, be familiar with client procedures and standards.
- Contract Documents: You will have a mastery understanding of contract documents (inclusive of appendices, drawings, and specifications), project execution plan, interface management, change management, construction sequencing, standards specifications, and project schedule to support Department Manager in timely completion of projects.
- Scheduling Principles: You will have a mastery understanding of scheduling principles and recovery methods.
- Cashflow Distribution: You must have a mastery understanding of cashflow distribution in projects, resource planning, and distribution, and understanding of crisis management and ability to calmly manage project issues.
- Dynamic Attitude: You will have a dynamic attitude towards project improvements and savings.
- Flexibility: You must be flexible to work in multinational teams and mobilize to different locations including remote areas as needed.
