Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Systems Engineer to join our Somerset division of a global specialist equipment manufacturer. As a Lead Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for leading and empowering a team of Systems Engineers to deliver high-quality solutions for our manufacturing equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of Systems Engineering tools and methods to bring clarity from uncertainty.
  • Translate product vision into clear and concise Requirements using Systems Engineering processes such as Use Cases, Context Diagrams, Architectures, and more.
  • Use Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methods to develop Functional, Logical, and Behavioural architectures to understand the operations and flow of the System.
  • Work collaboratively with all engineering teams to clarify work packages, manage trade-off studies, and resolve engineering issues.
  • Lead and coach a growing core team of Systems Engineers of all levels of expertise to continue their development.
  • Contribute to the Systems Engineering process development and its integration into the wider company, educating other employees in Systems Engineering to resolve technical challenges.
  • Ability to collaborate across multiple cross-functional teams.

Requirements

  • Systems Engineering Degree or demonstrable equivalent.
  • Experience of practical application of best-practice Systems Engineering in a relatable engineering industry.
  • Experience and understanding of working in a regulated, compliance-driven industry such as the semiconductor manufacturing equipment industry including product safety and compliance to applicable standards.
  • Excellent influencing and negotiation skills at multiple organisational levels.
  • Able to take ownership and control of a situation and bring people with them even though they may not be direct reports.
  • High level of integrity and accountability with a results-driven mindset, able to set the standard, and hold people accountable to deliver.
  • Experience of effectively coaching others.
