The Opportunity

You will have the chance to work on various projects, collaborating with the Interiors engineering team, Design team, and cross-functional teams. Your primary responsibility will be to develop interior trim components and systems, designing various parts that make up an interior, including plastic, metal, soft, or hard-trimmed components.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create assembly drawings and detail drawings with a high level of accuracy.
  • Develop a good eye for detail and take full responsibility for your output, ensuring the highest level of engineering.
  • Utilize Catia V5 to solid model and surface to a high standard.
  • Work with minimal supervision to deliver on time, collaborating with senior and lead engineers to design lightweight and stiffest structures to set targets.
  • Apply a lateral thinking approach to problem-solving and design.
  • Be fully trained in Geometrical Dimensioning and Tolerancing.

Requirements

  • Previous experience designing in the automotive industry, with other industries considered depending on the applicant.
  • Proficiency in using Catia V5 and preferably 3DX, creating drawings to standards BS8888 and/or ASME Y14.
  • Experience and knowledge of injection moulding, compression forming, back injection, and trimming would be beneficial.
  • Knowledge of interior trim joining techniques and methodologies.
  • A 'can-do' attitude and a focus on achieving great results.
