About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated individual to join our nursing team at Litchdon Medical Centre as a Nurse Associate/HCA. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment, providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the delivery of our nursing services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-standard patient care as part of a multi-disciplinary team, ensuring the provision of excellent care and support to patients.
  • Work closely with clinicians and administrative staff to ensure accuracy and safety of procedures and working practices.
  • Carry out routine treatment room duties as delegated by senior colleagues, including annual reviews and routine tasks related to patient care.
  • Assist and perform tasks related to patient care as directed by senior nursing staff and GPs, following agreed protocols and PSDs.
  • Access, plan, develop, implement, and evaluate programs to promote health and well-being, and prevent adverse effects on health and well-being.
  • Signpost to social prescribers, wellbeing teams, and other health promotion teams as appropriate.
  • Demonstrate a good understanding of the Mental Capacity Act, Mental Health Act, and Deprivation of Liberties, and apply principles to everyday practice.
  • Carry out Mental Health reviews, working alongside other staff as needed.
  • Recognize symptoms for general psychiatric disorders.
  • Dementia awareness, promote staff awareness, patient information, and local services.
  • Demonstrate engagement with carers.
  • Document consultations according to NMC/Practice guidelines.
  • Carry out Learning Disability reviews, working alongside other staff as needed.
  • Demonstrate a good understanding of the principles of consent and ensure valid consent is obtained prior to undertaking any nursing care and procedures.
  • Ensure awareness of statutory and local clinical adult and children safeguarding protection procedures, including systems of referral.
