Job Title: Associate Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Associate Nurse to join our team at the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Breast Team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality specialist nursing care to patients with breast disease.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Provide professional specialist leadership and effective management of resources to ensure high standards of nursing care are delivered to all breast patients.
  • Support patients from breast screening and symptomatic diagnosis through to potential breast cancer diagnosis.
  • Utilize specialist knowledge and skills within the multi-disciplinary management team caring for patients with breast disease, both benign and malignant.
  • Work autonomously using expert clinical judgment and knowledge to provide informational and psychological care to patients and their families in conjunction with the multidisciplinary teams in acute care, Primary Care, and Tertiary care providers.
  • Assist with all aspects of breast care provision in association with the multidisciplinary team (MDT).
  • Act as a nursing resource and provide clinical leadership and expertise as a Specialist Nurse concerning breast cancer and function at an expert level.
  • Take responsibility for own evidence-based practice and ensure awareness of current research to support and underpin specialist advice.
  • Develop all staff within the multidisciplinary team, providing support, advice, and formal and informal education.
  • Perform clinical duties confidently and competently, consolidating and further developing clinical skills.
  • Demonstrate ability to multi-task.

Working Pattern: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday

This is a fixed term contract for 24 months. For current NHS employees, this post could be a secondment opportunity.
