Revenue Inspector

**Job Summary**

Wokingham Borough Council is seeking a highly skilled Revenue Inspector to join our team on a full-time, permanent basis. As a key member of our revenue collection team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the accurate billing and collection of council tax and business rates.

**Key Responsibilities:**

• Conduct regular inspections of domestic and commercial properties to verify tax liabilities and ensure compliance with relevant legislation.
• Make informed decisions based on inspection findings and provide guidance to external customers on council tax and business rates legislation.
• Monitor newly developed properties, liaise with site managers, and serve completion notices as required.
• Utilize excellent communication and interpersonal skills to deal with potentially challenging customers.
• Work independently to manage a varied workload and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.

**Requirements:**

• Previous experience in council tax and business rates collection or a related field.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
