About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Systems Analyst to join our Finance Systems team at the Wellcome Sanger Institute. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of our financial systems and processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • System Improvement: Lead the enhancement of our Adaptive forecasting system, ensuring it meets the evolving needs of our organization.

  • Business Cycle Preparation: Ensure readiness for key business cycles, such as month-end rollovers and budget processes, by developing and implementing effective workflows and procedures.

  • System Administration: Perform daily administration and monitoring of both Unit 4 Finance and Adaptive forecasting systems, ensuring their continued functionality and integrity.

  • Guideline Development: Create and maintain system administration guidelines and checklists, ensuring that all team members have access to the information they need to perform their roles effectively.

  • Configuration Management: Work with the Adaptive Solution Architect to manage configuration changes, ensuring that our systems remain up-to-date and compliant with company policies and protocols.

  • Help-Desk Support: Provide technical support and troubleshooting for users, coordinating with Adaptive support as needed to ensure that issues are resolved quickly and efficiently.

  • Compliance: Ensure that our financial systems and processes are compliant with company policies and protocols, and that all team members are aware of their responsibilities in this regard.

  • System Integration: Maintain integration with other business systems, such as UBW and Workday, to ensure seamless data exchange and reporting.

  • User Training: Lead training sessions for new users, ensuring that they have the skills and knowledge they need to use our financial systems effectively.

  • Continuous Improvement: Seek out opportunities for system improvement through user feedback and data analysis, presenting cases for change to the Head of Financial Systems Team.

Essential Skills:

  • Financial Budgeting and Planning: Experience in financial budgeting and planning systems, with a preference for Adaptive Insight.

  • Business Acumen: A bachelor's degree in business, information systems, or a related area, and/or part-qualified accountant.

  • Finance System Experience: Experience of finance systems, such as UBW.

  • Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively (verbally and written) with all levels of management and staff, and clearly present ideas and solutions to more complex technical issues.

  • Influencing and Persuading: Proven ability to influence and persuade.

  • Problem Solving: High level of problem-solving/analytical skills.

  • Active Listening: Ability to actively question and listen to be able to problem solve.

  • Change Management: Experience in driving and managing change in a complex organization.

  • Relationship Building: Proven ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders, customers, and cross-functional teams, with an approach that is open, flexible, and transparent to identifying solutions with a personal ethos of continuous improvement.
