Position: Community Safety Technician (East Hub)

Compensation: £25,979 - £29,777 per annum, Grade 3

Role Summary:

As a key member of the Service Delivery team, you will play a vital role in supporting communities within the Berkshire area, focusing on fire prevention and safety.

Your responsibilities will include conducting safe and well home visits to assist vulnerable individuals in living safely and independently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Efficiently schedule appointments and perform home visits, installing smoke detectors and providing fire prevention advice.
  • Assess and install assistive technologies to support independent living.
  • Understand and implement referral processes, directing individuals to partner agencies as needed.
  • Collaborate with the Service Delivery Hub and Adult Referral Programme to deliver safety campaigns and events.

Candidate Profile:

The ideal candidate will be community-oriented and passionate about making a positive impact. Previous experience in fire safety or a related field is advantageous.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with a professional telephone manner.
  • Effective time management and organizational abilities.
  • Trustworthy and aware of confidentiality responsibilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to work at heights and use hand tools for installations.
  • Flexible working hours, including occasional evenings and weekends.
  • Valid manual driving license.
