About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Safety Technician to join our team at Amazon UK Services Ltd. as a Workplace Health and Safety Technician. This is a critical role that requires a strong understanding of health and safety principles and practices, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with risk assessments and ensure that control measures are implemented and maintained.
  • Advise associates and managers on company procedures and legal requirements related to health and safety.
  • Monitor the workplace for compliance with company safety procedures and identify areas for improvement.
  • Investigate incidents and near misses to identify root causes and develop action plans to prevent recurrence.
  • Update internal records and reports related to incidents, near misses, and accidents.
  • Collate and produce weekly safety reports as required.
  • Attend health and safety meetings and participate in the development of safety policies and procedures.
  • Undertake projects and information gathering to identify hazards and assess risks within the workplace.
  • Develop and implement action plans to ensure continuing compliance with legislation and company policies.
  • Maintain confidentiality in matters related to safety investigations.

As a Safety Technician, you will play a critical role in supporting our team and ensuring that we meet our health and safety objectives.

Requirements

  • Full UK driving license
  • NVQ Level 3 in occupational safety or equivalent
  • Experience in running metrics reports and analyzing data to identify problems and root causes
  • Knowledge of UK health and safety legislation and regulations
  • Experience working with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

  • Experience in logistics, operations, or a customer-oriented environment
  • Demonstrable ability to learn quickly and adapt to new processes and procedures
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work at all levels, coaching and mentoring others to work safely
