Position Overview

The St George's Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a dedicated Supply Chain Coordinator to join our Central Stores team. This role is integral to our operations, ensuring the efficient management of logistics and inventory within our healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Receiving shipments from vendors, verifying the contents against purchase orders, and accurately logging goods into our inventory management system.
  • Organizing non-stock deliveries in a designated area for subsequent collection by logistics personnel for distribution to relevant departments.
  • Maintaining cleanliness and organization in the Receipts and Dispatch areas to promote an efficient workflow.
  • Preparing items for return to suppliers in accordance with scheduled collection dates.
  • Assisting logistics staff with the transportation and collection of packages, pallets, and other materials to and from various departments.

Job Requirements

Essential Qualifications

  • Proven experience with procurement or materials management systems.
  • Background in a customer-oriented role that necessitates regular interaction with clients and colleagues.
  • A collaborative mindset with a willingness to learn and contribute to team efforts.
  • Ability to comprehend supply chain and logistics documentation, including delivery notes.
  • Capability to perform manual handling tasks of varying intensity.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Proficiency in MS Office or similar software.
  • Familiarity with both medical and non-medical products.

Educational Background

Essential

  • Minimum of GCSE Level education or equivalent.

Desirable

  • Level 2 NVQ in Supply Chain Management or equivalent qualification.
