Support Assistant for Behavioural Needs

  • Location: Portsmouth

Are you passionate about assisting students with behavioural challenges?

GSL Education is collaborating with various educational institutions in Portsmouth to fulfill their staffing requirements. Our primary objective is to enhance the quality of education and foster the growth of students. We aim to provide support to students within specialized provisions, facilitating their transition back to mainstream education.

The ideal candidate for this position will demonstrate resilience, dedication, and a positive mindset to improve the educational experiences of their students. This role involves assisting both educators and learners, ensuring that students remain engaged in their educational activities.

To excel in this position, the suitable candidate will possess the following qualities:

  • Comfortable in settings with challenging behaviours
  • A genuine passion for working with students with additional needs
  • Availability for five days a week

Desirable experience includes:

  • Experience in SEMH / PRU environments
  • Background in Youth Work
  • Service in Police or Military
  • Experience as Sports Coaches or Mentors
  • Graduates in fields such as Sport, Psychology, Drama, and Counselling

To join GSL Education as a Support Assistant for Behavioural Needs, candidates should:

  • Have the legal right to work in the UK.
  • Possess an updated CV with two relevant references from the past two years.
  • Have a DBS registered with the update service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
