About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced educator to provide one-to-one tuition to students in Functional Skills Maths or English. As a Functional Skills Tutor, you will work with students who require emotional support and have varying challenges, including behavioral issues, special educational needs, and being looked after by local authorities.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with students who require emotional support and be confident in communicating with local authorities and care home staff. You will be responsible for planning, producing, and delivering engaging sessions in Functional Skills English or Maths, tailoring your approach to meet the individual needs of each student.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver one-to-one tuition to students in Functional Skills Maths or English
  • Work with students who require emotional support and have varying challenges
  • Communicate effectively with local authorities and care home staff
  • Plan, produce, and deliver engaging sessions in Functional Skills English or Maths
  • Tailor your approach to meet the individual needs of each student
Requirements
  • Teaching Qualification (QTS) or tutoring/TA experience (Non-QTS)
  • Experience working with students with SEMH needs
