Job Title: Functional Skills Tutor

TeacherActive is seeking a dedicated and experienced Functional Skills Tutor to join our team in a specialist alternative provision in Nottingham.

About the Role:

We are looking for a qualified and passionate individual to teach Functional Skills in English and Maths to students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). The successful candidate will have experience working in a school setting and be able to support students with varying abilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Teaching Functional Skills in English and Maths to students with SEND
  • Supporting students during lessons and school activities
  • Managing students' personalised learning based on their individual needs
  • Delivering 1:1 or small group activities
  • Collecting evidence of students' work to support their assessment
  • Providing physical management and care of students
About the Setting:

The alternative provision supports students in Key Stage 3 and 4 who have been permanently excluded or are at risk of permanent exclusion from mainstream schools. Our aim is to re-integrate these students back into mainstream education or provide them with alternative pathways through personalised education plans.
