Conventus Solutions Limited is seeking a skilled Commercial Officer to join its team. This role would be ideal for someone with a strong background in commercial experience, preferably within the defence sector, looking to progress their career to a Commercial Manager position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage, administer, review, negotiate, and draft contracts and purchase orders with customers and suppliers.
  • Draft flow down terms for supplier contracts.
  • Provide commercial and contractual support to bids as required, including contributing to proposal development and commercial review of ITT and proposal documents.
  • Collaborate with the team to deliver profitable commercial and contractual solutions, ensuring commercial and contractual risks are mitigated, obligations are met, and required governance is followed.
  • Offer advice on Commercial policy to Directors and non-Commercial staff, highlighting the added value of these processes.

Essential Experience & Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years' experience in the commercial field.
  • Experience working with the UK MOD on proposals and contracts.
  • Understanding of terms and conditions, contract law, and intellectual property.
  • Knowledge of UK Defence terms and conditions, including DEFCONs.
  • Proven support to negotiation and contract management activities.
  • Previous exposure to international contracts, ITAR, and EAR.
  • In-depth professional knowledge of Commercial principles, techniques, and practices, and understanding of how Commercial roles fit within an organisation.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including influencing and presentation skills.

Due to the nature of the work, candidates will need to hold/undergo security clearance to a minimum of SC level and be sole British nationals. Familiarise yourself with the security vetting process before applying.
