Chief Officer - Ship Operations Manager

At Serco Plc, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Officer to join our team as a Ship Operations Manager. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on a variety of exciting projects, including dive support, military training, submarine rescue exercises, and more.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Manage the organisation, administration, and operational readiness of Ship Operations.
  2. Direct the management of seamanship activities, ensuring the required state of readiness is maintained at all times.
  3. Ensure general ship husbandry, material condition, and serviceability of all ship operations equipment, machinery, and nominated areas of responsibility are maintained and preserved to the required standard.
  4. Plan and manage the ships programme and operational tasking, ensuring the ships commitments are completed in a safe and efficient manner.
  5. Manage operational sea safety training requirements of the ship in accordance with the requirements laid down in the continuation training guide.
  6. Manage the effectiveness, welfare, safety, discipline, and training of embarked Officer Cadets.
  7. In consultation with the Master, the Chief Officer is responsible for the correct loading, discharge, and ballasting of the ship, having proper regard for stress, strain, and stability.
  8. STCW Personal Survival Techniques (5 Year Refresher Course).
  9. STCW Personal Safety and Social Responsibilities (5 Year Refresher Course).
  10. STCW Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting (5 Year Refresher Course).
