Job Overview

FINTEC recruit Ltd is seeking a highly skilled Welding Engineer to join our team in the Highland region. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality welding standards are met in our fabrication operations.

This is a permanent role with a competitive salary and benefits package. You will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, including pipeline construction and maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement welding procedures and specifications to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Conduct welding inspections and testing to ensure quality and safety standards are met.
  • Review and endorse welding consumable test certification and welding procedure qualification documentation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure effective implementation of welding procedures and specifications.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in welding engineering and implement best practices in our operations.
  • Develop and maintain weld procedure registers and ensure accurate records are kept.
  • Monitor production welding activities and troubleshoot any issues that may arise.
  • Evaluate causes of welding failures and implement corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Participate in regular operations and safety meetings to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in welding engineering in a fabrication environment.
  • Working knowledge of various NDE techniques.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
