Finance Supervisor Opportunity

Reed Accountancy Oxford is partnering with a reputable client in West Oxfordshire to source a Finance Supervisor to join their large finance structure.

The role offers a salary of up to £50,000 per annum (based on experience), 5% bonus scheme, 25 days annual leave, pension, free on-site parking, and flexible/hybrid working.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review monthly balance sheet reconciliations for completeness and accuracy to maintain inventory integrity on the general ledger.
  • Manage and book the annual inventory reconciliation between the general ledger and sub-ledger.
  • Collaborate with departments like Commercial Finance, Supply Chain, Global Procurement, and Operations Finance to ensure task completion.
  • Manage operations accounting staff, analysing monthly inventory variances such as defective inventory provisions, losses, and obsolescence.
  • Maintain oversight of cycle count programs across various sites and review monthly opportunity cost reports to help identify and address root causes.
  • Perform ad-hoc P&L analysis to ensure accurate inventory reporting and provide timely information for operational decision-making.
  • Assist with audit requests as needed, ensuring compliance with month-end close timetables.
  • Support transitions to new ERP systems and handle other ad-hoc responsibilities as required.

The ideal candidate will have experience in a fast-paced, large commercial organisation and will have gained a range of senior accounting responsibilities. Ideally, you will be part-qualified ACCA/CIMA or have a degree in an accounting/finance field along with practical knowledge. Communication skills are key in this role, and you will have demonstrable business partnering skills. You will also have experience on Oracle and be proficient in Excel.
