Ground Engineer

The Landfill Engineering team at Wardell Armstrong LLP is seeking a highly skilled Ground Engineer to join their diverse and dynamic team. As a Ground Engineer, you will play a crucial role in undertaking a range of waste, mining, civil, and geotechnical projects within the waste sector.
The successful candidate will be responsible for design, site investigation, on-site construction quality assurance supervision, and validation reporting across various project types. You will work closely with other disciplines, including geotechnical engineering, ground engineering, permitting, hydrology, and hydrogeology, to deliver high-quality solutions to our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Acting as a Site Engineer/CQA Engineer or supporting role, predominantly supervising landfill-related construction projects, earthworks, and ground investigations, providing Construction Quality Assurance activities on short or longer duration projects;
- 3D modeling and volume assessments;
- Design, stability analysis, and risk assessment;
- Specify and supervise in-situ testing and sampling in accordance with UK specifications and current technical standards;
- Liaison with clients, engineers, regulators, contractors, and sub-contractors throughout the site work phase;
- Assist in the preparation of contract documentation and administration of contracts;
- Data assessment and analysis;
- Logging of soils and rock (in accordance with current UK standards);
- Environmental monitoring;
- Factual and interpretative validation reporting;
Requirements:
- BSc in Engineering Geology, BEng in Civil/Geotechnical Engineering, or similar;
- Full UK driving license and vehicle;
- Strong writing and record-keeping skills;
