About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Content Operations team at Oxford University Press as a Senior Production Editor. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the production of academic books from delivery to publication, ensuring that products of high quality are available to the market on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the work of third-party supplier project managers in the production of print and online academic books content
- Communicate effectively with project stakeholders to ensure smooth production processes
- Support and advise supplier project managers on the analysis and resolution of production issues
- Liaise and coordinate with pre-press suppliers to ensure timely delivery of high-quality content
- Facilitate continuous improvement by mentoring and coaching supplier project managers
- Proactively contribute to the analysis and resolution of problems related to supplier performance issues
- Generate and implement business process improvements and transformations
About You
- Ability to empathize and collaborate with others to resolve problems
- Flexibility, creativity, and initiative in problem-solving
- Excellent prioritization and organization skills, including ability to manage a busy workload with strict deadlines
- Ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders, including authors
- Good experience and understanding of print and digital production processes and workflow
- Good experience and understanding of copy-editing, proofreading, and indexing processes
- Precision in written and verbal communication, with good attention to detail
- Good numeracy and ability to create a budget
- Good IT skills, including standard Microsoft Office package

Oxford University Press offers a range of benefits, including 25 days' holiday, bank holidays, and Christmas closure. We also offer a discretionary annual bonus and contribute to your pension up to 12%. Our hybrid working policy requires a minimum of 2 days per week in the Oxford office.
