Senior Network Architect

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Network Engineer to join our team at the National Physical Laboratory. As a key member of our Infrastructure team, you will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and maintaining our network infrastructure to ensure seamless service delivery.
Key Responsibilities:- Design, implement, and maintain network infrastructure to meet business requirements
- Collaborate with stakeholders to determine business requirements for network solutions or changes to existing services
- Provide support to other Infrastructure team members responsible for Endpoint IPAM/DHCP/DNS services
- Implement network improvements and manage changes to support all users with minimal downtime
- Collaborate with cybersecurity to ensure internal and external networks are fully secured using network access control and segmentation technologies
- Manage and report on network utilization and performance of wired and wireless infrastructure to ensure that business requirements are met
- Create and maintain operational documentation relating to the LAN/WAN/WIFI infrastructure
- Network protocols and topologies including OSPF, BGP, VRFs
- Allyied Telesis EPSR Ring topologies
- Allyied Telesis network management tools AMF Vista
- Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise switching and Omnivista management
- Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise Stellar Wi-Fi networks
- Next Gen Firewalls (preferably Fortinet) and VPN
- Network security concepts such as NAC, and segmentation systems (Preferably Forescout)
- Protocols used in resilient systems VRRP, LACP, Virtual-Chassis
- Physical data centre and hub room management
- Excellent all-round hardware knowledge
- Excellent standard of written documentation - policies, procedures, wiki/knowledgebase articles
