Care Assistant

Mencap is excited to announce the launch of a new service and is seeking dedicated and enthusiastic Care Assistants to join our team.
We offer both full-time and part-time roles, welcoming applications from all interested individuals. For any overnight shifts, you will receive an enhanced flat rate payment.
Working Hours: Shifts will be scheduled on a rota basis, including weekdays, weekends, and bank holidays, covering mornings, afternoons, evenings, and overnight shifts.
Key ResponsibilitiesAs a Care Assistant, your primary responsibility will be to deliver exceptional support that enables individuals to lead a more comfortable, dignified, and fulfilling life. Your duties will include:
- Promoting Independence: Assisting individuals with daily living tasks such as managing finances, household chores, scheduling appointments, and preparing nutritious meals.
- Effective Communication: Building positive relationships and helping individuals understand their surroundings, fostering social connections.
- Community Engagement: Encouraging participation in local activities and events to enhance life skills and personal identity.
- Personal Care: Supporting individuals with their personal hygiene routines, including medication reminders and assistance with bathing and using the restroom.
Not all Care Assistant positions require extensive personal care duties.
