About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Manager to support the delivery of our major transformation projects, including the launch of our Heart of Africa zone and our overnight stay proposition. As a key member of our Commercial team, you will work closely with our Commercial Director to ensure the successful mobilisation of these projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Initiate and manage commercial projects, overseeing them from high-level conceptualisation to detailed operational requirements.
  • Ensure project alignment with Chester Zoo's goals, acting as the key liaison between different stakeholders.
  • Provide analysis and support, offering detailed analysis, practical evaluations, and facilitating decision-making processes with various teams.
  • Facilitate operational readiness, leading efforts to ensure that all commercial initiatives are operationally ready.
  • Coordinate and deliver initiatives, managing logistical planning for allocated commercial initiatives.
  • Organise resources, coordinating tasks, stakeholders, and deliverables, providing deadlines and tracking progress.
  • Implement contingency plans to address potential project disruptions.
  • Communicate effectively, maintaining clear communication channels between project teams.
  • Lead project reviews, managing documentation and preparing for project reviews with senior managers.
What You'll Need
  • Proven experience supporting complex commercial projects within large visitor attraction/leisure venue environments or similar.
  • Experience managing and influencing cross-functional teams.
  • Experience in assessing and developing commercial opportunities within visitor attractions.
  • Demonstrable understanding of a wide range of activities within the visitor attraction sector.
  • Ability to coordinate large-scale project delivery in a fast-paced environment.
  • Skilled in coordinating stakeholders, resolving conflicts, and prioritising tasks.
