Job Title: Social Housing Carpenter

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Carpenter to join our social housing maintenance team at Howells Solutions Limited. As a Social Housing Carpenter, you will play a crucial role in ensuring residents have well-maintained and safe homes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform carpentry repairs and maintenance in social housing properties, ensuring a high level of quality and attention to detail.
  • Install, repair, and replace doors, windows, cabinets, and other carpentry elements, adhering to industry standards and regulations.
  • Identify and assess housing issues, providing effective solutions that meet the needs of residents and the organization.
  • Collaborate with the maintenance team to prioritize and complete work orders, ensuring timely and efficient completion.
  • Ensure work is completed in a manner that upholds safety and quality standards at all times.
  • Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition, performing regular checks and maintenance as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with residents and colleagues, providing clear and concise information and updates.
Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as a Carpenter, preferably in social housing or a similar field, with a strong understanding of carpentry techniques and materials.
  • Strong knowledge of carpentry techniques and materials, including woodwork, joinery, and finishing.
  • Proficiency in using hand and power tools, including saws, drills, and sanders.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent problem-solving skills and a strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with residents, colleagues, and external partners.
  • Qualification in Carpentry/working towards, with a strong commitment to ongoing learning and professional development.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation, with a willingness to travel to various locations as needed.
  • Willingness to undergo background checks and relevant certifications, as required by the organization.
