About Us:
At UK Research and Innovation, we are dedicated to supporting UK technology start-ups and SMEs through various Business Incubation initiatives. Our programmes assist technology start-ups in developing new products or services and launching them commercially. Over a span of 1-2 years, we provide essential support, including grant funding, commercial coaching, and access to technical expertise and facilities. With a proven track record of success, we have supported numerous start-ups and contributed to the creation of highly-skilled jobs.
Role Overview:
This newly established position will play a crucial role in managing and expanding our Incubation Programmes. The successful candidate will collaborate with the Programmes Manager team to ensure the effective delivery of our initiatives. This role is designed for professional growth, with the potential for advancement into Programme Manager positions.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist Programme Managers in attracting high-quality applications to the Business Incubation Programmes by identifying potential start-ups and guiding them through the application process.
• Support incubated start-ups in executing their incubation plans and maximizing the benefits of the technical and business support provided.
• Serve as a primary contact for start-ups regarding the business incubation programmes.
• Create and maintain a steady stream of high-quality content (case studies, blogs, position papers) to enhance the marketing and promotion of the Business Incubation Programmes.
• Conduct research on technology and investment trends in relevant sectors.
• Organize and facilitate events that align with the goals of the Business Incubation Programmes.
• Represent the Business Incubation Programmes at industry events such as trade shows and conferences.
Person Specification:
Essential:
• A strong interest in advanced technology and the commercialization of innovations.
• Experience in supporting business development activities, including market research and sales strategy development.
• Ability to produce high-quality content for marketing and reporting purposes.
• Proactive approach to managing projects with minimal supervision.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Strong communication and networking skills, capable of engaging with diverse audiences.
• A commitment to continuous improvement and professional development.
• Willingness to travel and work at various locations as needed.
• Proficiency in IT systems and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Outlook.
Desirable:
• Previous experience in a start-up or scale-up support programme.
