MECHANICAL AND ELECTRICAL ASSEMBLY TECHNICIAN

ESSRecruit is collaborating with a forward-thinking company established in 2019, focused on enhancing the renewable energy landscape. This organization is committed to minimizing carbon emissions and is pivotal in the deployment of battery storage solutions within the UK. They provide a variety of customizable battery storage options designed to assist clients in optimizing energy consumption, lowering their carbon footprint, generating additional revenue, and improving operational efficiency.

To support their expansion efforts, the company has inaugurated a new facility in Dundee and is seeking to recruit a proficient Mechanical and Electrical Assembly Technician.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare materials for assembly processes.
  • Construct electrical and mechanical assemblies by interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
  • Conduct testing on battery storage products and systems.
  • Perform installation and servicing of battery systems and control hardware at client locations.
  • Carry out ongoing maintenance and repairs of existing assets, ensuring all related documentation is completed.
  • Collaborate with other teams to ensure timely and efficient completion of tasks.
  • Engage in joint fault diagnostics and root cause analysis.
  • Provide regular updates on job progress.
  • Undertake offsite work as necessary.
  • Deliver quality results within your area of responsibility.
  • Understand and adhere to ISO9001 standards.
  • Ensure all activities comply with health and safety regulations and risk assessments.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Relevant qualifications such as SQA, City and Guilds, or equivalent in Electrical Engineering.
  • Hands-on experience in mechanical assembly and electrical wiring.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
  • Demonstrated diagnostic and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Competence in analyzing situations and communicating potential obstacles to project execution.
  • Team-oriented with excellent communication skills.
  • Experience with battery storage systems is a plus.
