NEC Software Solutions is seeking a talented Senior Backend Software Developer to contribute to our growing team.

In this role, you will be responsible for designing and developing robust backend systems and APIs using .NET and C#. Your expertise in healthcare data interchange formats, including HL7 and FHIR, will be instrumental in integrating our healthcare-focused applications with external systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop high-performance backend services and APIs utilizing .NET and C#.
  • Lead the integration of backend systems with external services through robust APIs.
  • Ensure the security and integrity of data handling practices throughout the development process.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members to meet project requirements and deliver exceptional software solutions.
  • Champion the adoption of HL7 and FHIR standards within our organization, promoting best practices in healthcare data exchange.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Optimize systems for scalability and speed, ensuring efficient performance and resource utilization.
  • Manage database design and querying, prioritizing both performance and security considerations.
  • Conduct thorough code reviews, testing, and debugging to maintain high-quality software deliverables.
  • Document development processes meticulously, adhering to established best practices and promoting knowledge sharing within the team.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Proven experience in backend software development using .NET and C#.
  • Solid understanding of API design principles and implementation best practices.
  • Familiarity with the .NET ecosystem and object-oriented programming (OOP) concepts.
  • Experience with healthcare data exchange standards is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in database technologies such as SQL Server or MySQL.
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies and DevOps principles.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a collaborative approach to teamwork.
  • Excellent communication and project management abilities.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with Azure cloud platform and Git version control system.
  • Knowledge of additional backend technologies and frameworks.
  • Prior experience in the healthcare industry.
  • Leadership or senior developer experience.
  • Familiarity with DevOps tools and practices.
