Position SummaryThe primary role involves commissioning, modifying, troubleshooting, and providing support for equipment at client sites, ensuring the highest standards of quality are maintained.
Travel Requirement: Must be available to travel extensively, approximately 80% of the time, to various project locations.
Key Responsibilities- Commission automated control systems for newly supplied or modified equipment efficiently and professionally.
- Conduct on-site testing including functionality, integration, and capacity assessments.
- Document and track outstanding issues using project management tools.
- Facilitate the implementation and handover of the final approved systems to the customer support team.
- Perform installation and adjustments of electrical and mechanical components as necessary.
- Provide remote technical assistance to clients as required.
- Interpret and analyze circuit diagrams and layout schematics for installation and troubleshooting.
- Collaborate with the software development team during the commissioning and troubleshooting phases.
- Build and maintain effective professional relationships with clients and project teams.
- Communicate commissioning and troubleshooting updates to relevant stakeholders in a timely manner.
- Domestic travel requirement: 80% of the time.
- Undertake additional related duties as assigned.
Essential Skills and Experience
- 5-7 years of experience in a field service engineering role or equivalent electro-mechanical expertise.
- Experience in logistics or material handling systems; roles such as Automation Engineer, Electrical Engineer, or Electrician are relevant.
- HNC in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification.
- Proficient in interpreting circuit diagrams.
- Familiarity with Siemens S7, Ladder Logic, and STL programming.
- Strong troubleshooting skills.
- Experience with remote software management.
- Basic understanding of database functionalities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated professionalism and time management capabilities.
- Experience with construction site health and safety protocols.
- A valid driving license is required.
Flexibility is essential, as the role may involve night shifts, weekend work, and on-call duties to meet customer needs.
