Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Medical and Dental Workforce Strategist to join our team. This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of our medical and dental services by providing comprehensive operational support to all staff, including trainees.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert guidance and advice on all aspects of medical workforce management, including recruitment, rostering, and performance management.
- Collaborate closely with the Guardian of Safe Working, Resourcing Team, and Medical & Dental staff at all levels to develop and implement effective workforce strategies.
- Oversee the work of Rota Coordinators across the Trust, ensuring best practice and compliance in rostering medical and dental staff.
- Work with resourcing and temporary staffing teams to optimize substantive fill rates and minimize reliance on bank and agency staff.
- Partner with General Managers and Clinical Directors to contribute to robust workforce planning initiatives.
Essential Skills and Experience
- Proven experience in medical workforce management within a healthcare setting.
- Demonstrated ability to produce complex reports and analysis, providing insightful recommendations.
- Expertise in developing and implementing new policies and processes related to medical staffing.
- Strong understanding of junior doctors' rota structures and exception reporting procedures.
- Extensive experience in medical rostering and optimization techniques.
- Proven track record of reducing bank and agency spend through effective workforce planning.
