Job Summary:
First Military Recruitment Ltd is actively seeking a skilled HGV Class 2 Driver to join our esteemed client.

The primary responsibility of the HGV Driver is to manage the loading, transportation, and retrieval of heavy plant machinery to and from various customer locations, ensuring timely and professional service while adhering to all legal driving regulations.

We welcome applications from ex-military personnel, although all candidates will be thoroughly considered.

Key Responsibilities:


1. Efficiently load, transport, and retrieve heavy plant machinery to and from customer sites while maintaining a professional demeanor and ensuring compliance with all driving laws.

2. Conduct equipment demonstrations at customer locations as required, ensuring all necessary checks and documentation for equipment hire are completed accurately.

3. Accurately complete all delivery-related paperwork and debrief with the supervisor or designated personnel upon return to the depot.

4. Communicate any delivery-related issues to the customer service department or depot supervisor using the vehicle's mobile phone, when applicable, and take necessary corrective actions.

5. Operate the vehicle in a professional manner, prioritizing safety and minimizing potential damage.

6. Adhere to all Driver, Health & Safety, and Food Hygiene regulations in accordance with company policies.

7. Perform daily vehicle safety checks prior to departure.

8. Complete all deliveries assigned for the day.

9. Ensure accurate completion of driver load sheets and tachographs.


Required Skills and Qualifications:
1. Proven experience in an HGV driving capacity, specifically in loading, transporting, and retrieving heavy plant machinery.
2. Valid Class 2 driving license, Driver CPC with a minimum of 35 hours completed, and a current Digital Tachograph card.
3. Recent experience with trailer towing is essential.
4. Strong understanding of Health & Safety protocols and the ability to implement these guidelines effectively in the workplace.
5. Excellent customer service skills coupled with a keen attention to detail.
