Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Adult Social Care Attorney to join our team on a locum basis. As a key member of our legal services department, you will provide expert advice and guidance on Adult Social Care matters, working closely with our clients to ensure that their needs are met.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert advice and guidance on Adult Social Care law, including children's social care, education, and health matters.
  • Attend and advise at meetings attended by professionals, including Safeguarding Adults from Abuse Meetings (SAFFA's) and case planning meetings.
  • Conduct advocacy before the Court and instruct counsel where appropriate, in matters before the High Court, Magistrates Court, and First Tier Tribunal.
  • Ensure that decisions made by client departments are within legal boundaries, accord with Council policy, and achieve their aims and objectives efficiently.
  • Maintain an awareness of all relevant legislation, policy, and regulations, investigate and advise on implications of changing legislation, case law, and codes of practice and policy, and provide training where necessary.

Requirements:

  • Must have prior experience working within the Public Sector or Private Practice carrying a full and varied caseload of Adult Social Care matters.
  • Must be a Solicitor/Lawyer, Legal Executive, Barrister, or Legal Officer.
