Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at a secondary school in Romford. As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special educational needs, working closely with the class teacher to ensure each child progresses towards their goals.

About the Role:
  • Support students with mixed special needs, including mild to severe learning difficulties, verbal and non-verbal communication techniques, sensory impairment, Autism, Challenging Behaviour, and other additional needs.
  • Work alongside the class teacher to develop and implement individualized learning plans.
  • Provide 1-1 support to students in a mainstream secondary school setting.
  • May require personal care and support for students with complex needs.
Requirements:
  • Experience working with students with SEN, either as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, HLTA, Carer, Support Worker, Health Care Assistant, or Personal Care Assistant.
  • Strong understanding of the requirements to support pupils with additional needs.
  • Adaptability, motivation, and ability to take initiative.
