Financial Reporting Manager Job Description

Sewell Wallis is partnering with a well-established business in Sheffield to recruit a Financial Reporting Manager.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious, fully qualified Accountant with a strong technical background looking to take the next step in their career.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the production of accurate, complete, and compliant annual reports, including drafting statutory financial statements and completing the external audit.
  • Be the key point of contact for reconciliation, control, and reporting elements of the balance sheet, including fixed assets, stock, investments, and restricted funds.
  • Manage cashflow reporting and liaise with key stakeholders to produce the management accounts pack.
  • Lead and develop a small team, taking control of treasury management to maximise financial return on working capital and investments.
  • Work across the SSC to continually improve financial processes and procedures.
  • Deputise for the Financial Controller in their absence.
  • Ensure VAT compliance and undertake ad hoc project work.
Requirements:
  • Fully qualified Accountant, ideally ACA / ACCA / CIMA.
  • Strong technical background with experience of producing statutory accounts and managing the external audit process.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles under UK GAAP.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills and confident communication.
  • Ability to lead and develop a team.
