Job Description

Alexander Steele Recruitment is delighted to be working in partnership with a leading food manufacturer. They supply high-quality products into food service and B2B channels. Due to growth, the company is looking to appoint a Food Technologist to join their team.

  • A competitive salary of £35,000 - £37,000 depending on experience
  • Hybrid working arrangement with 4 days working from home and 1 day on site in a London office
  • Company pension scheme
  • 25 days holiday plus bank holidays

The Role:

As the Food Technologist, your primary responsibility will be to provide technical support to the company's technical function. The role will involve efficiently handling customer enquiries and complaints while collaborating with stakeholders across the business to ensure the company's objectives are achieved in an efficient and effective manner.

  • Support with new product development (NPD) and existing product development (EPD) project management.
  • Accurate completion of specifications for customers and new products.
  • Provide comprehensive technical support and work collaboratively with other departments, including commercial and supply chain.
  • Ensure that all customer complaints and enquiries are dealt with efficiently and effectively.
  • Ensure that all internal databases are updated accurately and maintained.
  • Communicate relevant customer complaints and issues internally to the technical function.
  • Support with supplier gap analysis visits when requested.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A degree in Food Technology or Science, or recognised food safety qualifications.
  • At least 3 years of experience working in a food manufacturing or agent & broker environment.
  • Numerate, literate, and intermediate IT skills, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
