Job Overview

The Ministry of Defence is seeking a dedicated professional to join our team at the Devonport Naval Base, the largest naval facility in Europe. This expansive site is crucial for the maintenance and operational readiness of the UK’s submarine fleet, as well as supporting various naval vessels and personnel. Our mission is to ensure the effective delivery of the UK’s defence strategy through a collaborative and innovative work environment.

Role Responsibilities

The successful candidate will provide essential support to the Resource Manager for Infrastructure, focusing on financial oversight within the Future Maritime Support Programme and associated projects. Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting in the preparation of financial forecasts and annual budgets, identifying potential financial risks.
  • Leading the monthly Infrastructure Forecast of Outturn (FOO) to ensure compliance with management and reporting standards.
  • Coordinating the Infrastructure ABC Planning Round Bid, highlighting risks and opportunities.
  • Facilitating regular finance meetings with delivery teams to maintain accurate forecasting.
  • Conducting financial reviews and approvals for business cases and expenditure proposals to ensure timely delivery of infrastructure outputs.
  • Providing analytical support to various teams to enhance decision-making processes.

Candidate Profile

The ideal applicant will possess a strong background in finance and demonstrate confidence in interpersonal interactions. Essential qualifications include:

  • AAT Level 4 or higher.
  • Knowledge of MOD financial procedures.
  • Completion of mandatory training and a Financial Skills Certificate (Intermediate Level) within six months of joining.
