Venn Group's dedicated public sector legal team is seeking a proficient Senior Housing Litigation Solicitor to support a Local Authority in Greater London. This role is essential due to an increase in workload and involves overseeing a team of housing lawyers.

The position of Locum Senior Housing Solicitor is available for an initial contract period, with the possibility of extension depending on performance and ongoing needs. This opportunity is ideal for an experienced Housing Litigation Solicitor looking to advance into a leadership role.

The successful candidate will be a qualified Barrister, Solicitor, or Legal Executive (CILEx) with a strong history of managing Housing Law cases within Local Government.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Housing Disrepair: Provide legal guidance on housing disrepair matters, ensuring tenant concerns are effectively managed.
  2. Possession Proceedings: Represent the council in court for possession cases to reclaim properties.
  3. Anti-Social Behaviour: Address legal issues related to anti-social behaviour, including securing and enforcing injunctions.
  4. Injunctions: Obtain and enforce injunctions across various legal matters, ensuring adherence to court directives.
  5. Homelessness Support: Offer legal advice on homelessness cases, ensuring compliance with relevant housing legislation.
  6. Judicial Review Management: Conduct and oversee Judicial Reviews, advocating for the council's interests in legal proceedings.
  7. Debt Recovery Oversight: Manage debt recovery initiatives, including initiating legal actions to recover outstanding debts.
