Our esteemed insurance partner is seeking a Senior Motor Trade Underwriter to join their expanding team. This role encompasses both new business acquisition and the management of renewals through a dedicated network of brokers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Effectively develop and underwrite Motor Trade Risks through a selected group of brokers, with opportunities for face-to-face underwriting.
  • Enhance the commercial account by fostering and nurturing relationships with both new and existing regional brokers.
  • Collaborate with Business Development Managers to actively pursue growth targets, maximizing sales and retention efforts.
  • Deliver exceptional service levels to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Stay informed about the commercial insurance and broking landscape.
  • Offer technical support, manage referrals, and provide guidance to team members.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Proven experience in underwriting and trading commercial Motor Trade products.
  • In-depth understanding of the Northwest broker market.
  • Demonstrated relationship management capabilities.
  • Track record of meeting and exceeding both personal and team objectives.
  • Minimum qualification of Cert CII; Dip CII or progress towards it is advantageous.
  • Strong trading skills with a focus on prospecting and enhancing new business and retention.
  • Decisive and robust approach to underwriting.
  • Able to work autonomously as well as collaboratively to achieve shared goals.
