About The Role:

Upon completing your training and onboarding, your responsibilities will include:

  • Working from a home office while covering the UK, with some travel across Europe, spending approximately three days per week visiting clients.
  • Driving sales of my client's spectrometers (valued between £300K and £5M) in both academic and industrial markets.
  • Engaging in a blend of new business development and account management.
  • Interacting with Lab Managers, Technical Directors, Heads of Departments, and Purchasing professionals.
  • Facilitating both in-person and virtual meetings.
  • Generating leads, qualifying inquiries, conducting client presentations and product demonstrations, preparing quotations, and closing sales.
  • Working towards annual sales objectives and targets.
  • Building enduring relationships with customers.

About You:

The ideal candidate will hold at least a degree in a hard science discipline such as Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Biological Sciences, or Material Science. A Master's or PhD would be advantageous but is not mandatory, as emotional intelligence to understand customer needs is paramount.

In addition to the above, candidates should have proven experience in selling complex scientific instruments or equipment, which may include Microscopes, Electron Microscopes, and Spectrometers.

Other essential skills include:

  • Self-motivation and a strong drive for success.
  • Effective communication skills at all levels.
  • A valid UK driving license.
  • Resourcefulness in generating client appointments.
  • The right to work in the UK (sponsorship is not available).
  • A collaborative spirit and a willingness to learn.
