The ideal candidate will be responsible for crafting compelling and successful proposals, bids, and tender documents. They must possess excellent writing and presentation skills, as well as the ability to collaborate with internal stakeholders to produce high-quality submissions that will secure new business.
Main Responsibilities- Manage bid lifecycles from opportunity identification to successful submission and hand-over to operations team.
- Lead the delivery of bids, including supporting bid writers and estimators, and formulating bid programmes to ensure completion within agreed timeframes.
- Manage the flow of client information, the clarification process, including the distribution of the clarification log.
- Support the personal and professional development of individuals within the bid team through Personal Development Plans, training, and regular 1-2-1 performance reviews.
- Bid Improvement Workshops with key contributors, including Operational and Commercial teams.
- Produce 'Bid Exec Summaries' to inform the 'Bid No Bid' process and/or 'Win Strategies'.
- Take ownership of the 'Bid Pipeline' to track future opportunities and plan resource allocation.
- Develop relationships with internal bid contributors, including commercial and operational teams, and external partners, including architects and engineers, into a unified bid team.
- Work closely with Senior Management teams to produce bid/pipeline activity reports.
- Attend a range of networking, procurement, and bidding events.
- Develop relationships with framework administrators and procurement specialists.
- Forging relationships with industry, political, and academic groups to stay informed of best practice and policy changes.
- Work closely with Business Development Managers/Managing Directors to gain market intelligence and support business growth plans in line with objectives.
- Take on business development/key account functions to support wider business objectives.
- Capture commercial and quality feedback to drive improvement. Conduct and document a lessons-learnt exercise following feedback from each bid, maintaining an environment of continual improvement within our Bid Strategies.
- Develop market intelligence and maintain a bid library to support the ongoing bid function.
