Financial Director

We are seeking an experienced Finance Director to join our dynamic Management Services Team at Legal News Wales, a leading Legal 500 firm. As a key member of our finance department, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and compliance of our financial operations.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee the daily operations of the finance department, ensuring timely and accurate processing of fee invoices, credit notes, and disbursement write-offs.
- Monitor and authorise payments to clients and other parties, maintaining a high level of attention to detail and ensuring compliance with firm policies and SRA rules.
- Conduct various reconciliations and postings between bank accounts, identifying unusual results and risk events, and reporting accordingly.
- Manage credit control and pursue unbilled disbursements, working closely with the Finance Assistant to ensure efficient and effective processes.
- Supervise the Finance Assistant, providing necessary training and guidance to ensure their success in the role.
- Assist the Finance Director in handling special finance projects, generating performance reports, and ensuring compliance with firm policies and SRA rules.
- Meticulous attention to detail and ability to meet finance system deadlines.
- Strong IT proficiency, particularly with accounts software and Excel.
- Self-motivated and proactive, capable of working with minimal supervision.
- Ability to identify unusual results, risk events, and associated reporting obligations.
