Position Overview:
As an Automation and Control Systems Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing production efficiency and ensuring optimal operational performance. Your primary responsibility will be to assess and refine production workflows to achieve key performance indicators while providing technical guidance to both production and engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Deliver technical direction to the production workforce.
2. Facilitate troubleshooting and resolution of operational issues.
3. Implement lean methodologies to boost yield, quality, throughput, and overall productivity.
4. Drive initiatives aimed at improving efficiency across manufacturing and operational processes.
5. Monitor production metrics and proactively address any adverse trends.
6. Lead and engage in continuous improvement initiatives.
7. Collaborate with external contractors to resolve challenges and enhance processes.
8. Participate in the planning and execution of capital enhancement projects.
9. Work cross-functionally to meet organizational objectives.
10. Provide training and support to the operations team.
11. Review and enhance equipment, process control sequences, and operational protocols.
12. Educate production staff to improve their technical knowledge and process understanding.
13. Ensure seamless communication during shifts.
14. Comply with company Health & Safety regulations at all times.
15. Undertake any other relevant duties as assigned.

Candidate Profile:
The ideal candidate will possess an academic background in process engineering or have served as a maintenance technician with experience in process control. A Higher National Certificate (HNC) in Electrical Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience as an Electrical Maintenance Technician, is required. A minimum of five years' experience in a manufacturing setting, preferably within the food sector, is essential. A proven history of managing production technical processes and driving continuous improvement is necessary. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is expected, along with experience in PLCs, variable speed drives, and troubleshooting.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with SCADA systems, pneumatic controls, and supervisory roles is advantageous. Familiarity with LEAN manufacturing principles is also desirable.
