Healthcare Support Worker, Orthopaedics Specialist

About the Role:
We are seeking a compassionate and caring individual to join our team as a Healthcare Support Worker. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and support to our patients and their families.
Job Summary:
As a Healthcare Support Worker, you will work alongside our nursing teams to provide fundamental care to patients at the bedside. This will include supporting patients with washing and dressing, assisting patients with eating and drinking, and helping patients to mobilise. You will also be responsible for maintaining a clean environment and ensuring infection prevention and control.
Main Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care whilst maintaining the privacy and dignity of patients
- Support patients with their continence needs
- Meet patients' nutrition and hydration needs, including serving meals and helping patients to eat
- Support patients with their personal care
- Move and handle patients to support independence
- Maintain a clean environment and ensure infection prevention and control
- Safeguard adults and children
- Make beds
- Support patients with communication

Person Specification:
- Functional level of English and Math
- Customer service or experience working with people
- Working as part of a team
- Previous experience as a healthcare support worker (desirable)
- Understanding of the role of the Healthcare Support Worker in the hospital setting
- Trust vision, values, and behaviours (desirable)
- Effective communication
- Basic IT/computer skills
- Empathy and understanding
- Caring and compassionate
