About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Senior Healthcare Support Worker to join our Orthopaedic team at Ashford and St. Peter's Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our Registered Nurses and Nursing Associates.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care, including meeting hygiene, continence, nutrition, and mobility needs.
  • Take and record patients' vital signs, identifying and escalating changes to a patient's condition.
  • Provide one-to-one observation for patients who present a high risk of harm and vulnerable patients.
  • Undertake training and competencies related to the role, such as ECGs, venepuncture, and cannulation.
  • Escort patients to different departments, such as x-ray.
  • Keep the department and equipment clean, tidy, and restock equipment.
  • Train and support new and junior team members.
Requirements
  • Functional level of English and Math.
  • Care Certificate in Acute Care.
  • Previous experience working as a healthcare support worker within the NHS for a minimum of six months.
  • Working as part of a team.
